Description
Free From the Yoke is a game of political intruigue
and low-fantasy adventure in a world inspired by
Eastern European history and mythology.
Each game begins with a play group working
through the story of their revolution against an
occupying empire, and the Arbiter who lead the
revolution and now rules the new nation. This
Arbiter – controlled by the GM – acts as an
antagonist for the campaign, a ruler for the factions
the players control to appease, manipulate, keep at
bay and even rise up in revolt against.
Free From the Yoke builds on the faction and hero
gameplay of Legacy: Life Among the Ruins. Players
tell political stories controlling factions like
steppe horse nomads, keepers of the land’s lore,
and representatives of other nations, but also play
wise, daring and strong heroes in adventures
across this land.
With rules designed to produce dramatic stories of
loyalty, oaths, magic and mystery, Free From the
Yoke gives play groups everything they need to
tell a spellbinding multi-generation story of the
